How To Watch Megyn Kelly's Trump Interview Online

by Chris Tognotti

On May 17, Fox News host Megyn Kelly aired an interview with the most controversial and headline-grabbing person in politics right now: presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. The interview generated a lot of hype, thanks in no small part to the history between them ― Trump has maintained an openly hostile attitude toward Kelly for months after she asked him some tough character questions during a presidential debate in August. If you're curious to see how it went, here's how to watch Kelly's Trump interview in full, in case you didn't catch it when it aired.

Unfortunately, the full interview hasn't been posted by Fox just yet, so you won't be able to check it out immediately. With such an exclusive sit-down with a presidential contender on their hands, it's no surprise that they'd want to direct viewership to their broadcasts for the time being. But whenever it does go live, you'll be able to watch it on FoxNews.com, or perhaps most conveniently, on the network's official YouTube page.

It's a bit sad if you were hoping to watch it straight away. But luckily, not all is lost: It's quite probable, like with any major political interview, that you can find some clips posted on YouTube (although Fox's official account has not posted it yet), or floating around social media. Here's one notable example that's drawn a lot of attention ― when Kelly forced Trump to answer for some of the disparaging things he's said about Kelly, and allowed his fans to say by retweeting them.

Trump, as you can see above, offered an awkward half-apology for retweeting those fans who called Kelly a "bimbo," including the time he said so himself. During this exchange, Trump said "excuse me," before uncomfortably adding that it was "not the most horrible thing you've ever been called," and that Kelly has "been called a lot worse. Is that not right, wouldn't you say?" Yup, this awkward moment between Kelly and Trump was that bad.

If you missed what all the brouhaha between Kelly and Trump was about when it started, it all dates back to the first GOP primary debate on August 6th, 2015, when the she challenged him on his well-documented history of sexist verbal attacks against women, both on Twitter and on television.

The line of questioning clearly rankled Trump, who subsequently went on a weeks-long spree of insulting and excoriating Kelly at every turn: calling her a "lightweight," retweeting supporters calling her a "bimbo," implying (although Trump denies it) that she asked him tough questions because she was menstruating, and a number of other wildly juvenile attempts at bullying her. Kelly has reportedly even received death threats from Trump supporters as a result.

On Tuesday night, however, Trump was strenuously well-behaved (if his typical tone-deaf self), spending the evening retweeting fans who were heaping praise on him and Kelly. It just goes to show you how much the pressure of a general election can force a candidate to moderate their tone here or there, although who knows how long it'll last for Trump.
