Rose Byrne and Max Mara Make Quite the Pair

by Mary Avant

As Fashion Month continues, the style set have traveled around the globe to Italy for Milan Fashion Week, an event full of fabulous fashion from designers like Gucci, Prada, Moschino, Fendi, and more. With stars such as Salma Hayek and Leigh Lezark making their way to the Italian leg of the Fashion Month tour, it’s a week full of stylish celebs sitting front row and taking in some of the best collections the fashion industry has to offer.

Australian actress and Bridesmaids star Rose Byrne was no exception, as she showed up to the recent Max Mara show looking impossibly chic in a loose-fitting, glittering gold blouse; high-waist, wide-leg cream trousers; a simple, tailored black blazer; and a sleek, caramel-colored bob.

It comes as no surprise that the brilliant beauty looked amazing on the front row or that she attended the show in the first place, as she just received Max Mara’s “Face of the Future” award. A film-industry honor, the award recognizes an actress who is just as talented as she is fashionable and graceful and, in the past, has been given to film greats such as Elizabeth Banks and the young Hailee Steinfeld. As part of the honor, Byrne will be recognized this summer in Los Angeles at the Women in Film Lucy + Crystal Awards.

Byrne and Max Mara may seem like an odd pair at first glance, considering that the actress rarely, if ever, wears the Italian luxury brand, choosing instead to wear a slew of pieces by Calvin Klein, Chanel, and Valentino. But seeing as the Australian actress’s wardrobe is full of polished pieces like tailored coats and classically cut dresses — staples of the Max Mara fashion house — we can’t believe the two haven’t teamed up before now.

However, Byrne's front-row Max Mara ensemble — along with her look at a Milan Fashion Week Max Mara dinner, to which she wore a beautifully simple black dress and gold-trimmed belt — is a sign of good things to come from the star's classic-with-an-edge wardrobe. And with all the tasteful tweed, outstanding outerwear, and knock-out knits in Max Mara's latest collection, we can't wait to see the star show up in its designs come fall.
