These Musicians Are Going To The Discovery Channel

by Kristie Rohwedder

Lions and tigers and bears and pop stars, oh my. On Monday, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the Discovery Channel will add celebrity-narrated animal show Hello World! to its programming lineup this summer. The six-part series, which promises dig into the “wonders of the natural world," will feature narration by Christina Aguilera, Usher, Steven Tyler, Joan Jett, Ellie Goulding, and Dave Matthews. In addition to lending their dulcet speaking voices to the World Wildlife Fund-affiliated program, these acclaimed artists will also lend their songs to the show. Well, if Hello World! doesn't sound paw-sitively paw-dorable!

According to THR, each musician will take on a different episode of the miniseries: the Jett installment will look at different species that have bad reputations (get it? Get it??), Aguilera’s will highlight the maternal instincts of animals, Goulding’s will get into critters’ mating rituals (might we hear a certain Bloodhound Gang track on this ep of the family-friendly show? I mean, I wouldn't hold my breath, but ya never know!), Usher's will feature a resilient sea turtle and a resilient fox, Matthews's will shadow three different species as they search for fresh water, and Tyler's will follow some North American animals as they go on "summer vacation."

Aaaaand now I can't stop picturing animals packing up their little suitcases, hopping in their little station wagons, and going on vaycay. Couldn't be happier about it.

Hello World! will premiere on July 9 on Discovery Channel.
