The 4 Victims Of The T.I. Concert Shooting

After an unknown gunman opened fire at a T.I. rap concert in Manhattan late Wednesday night, four people were shot, one fatally. The concert's venue, Irving Plaza, can hold up to 1,025 people, but it's unclear how many people were in attendance during the music show. Regardless of that number, we know four people were shot, so it's important to ask: Who were the victims of the T.I. concert shooting? It's unclear if they knew each other.

Rap artist T.I. was set to perform at Irving Plaza on May 25 in Manhattan. After reportedly running behind schedule, T.I. never actually came out on stage when the suspect began shooting inside the music hall. Instead, two other rappers, Maido and Uncle Murda, were performing on stage just 10 minutes before T.I. should have come out when shots were fired.

The New York Police Department hadn't found a suspect or significant evidence from the shooter as of early Thursday morning. Although the suspect is still missing, some evidence has been revealed about the victims involved. Among the four people shot, three were men and one was a woman, yet their relationship is unclear. One of the men reportedly shot was rapper Troy Ave.

The victim who died in this seemingly isolated incident was a 33-year-old man. He was shot in the stomach by the unknown assailant before receiving care at Mt. Sinai Beth-Israel Hospital, NYPD Chief of Detectives William Aubry said during a press conference last Wednesday night. He passed away not long after arriving to the hospital for treatment.

A 34-year-old man was one of the other victims and he was shot in the chest. He was immediately transported to Bellevue Hospital where it was determined that he is in critical condition.

Roland Collins, a Crown-Heights based rapper, was one of the four victims of this shooting. The 30-year-old, whose rap name is Troy Ave, was shot in the leg during the concert. He was taken to New York Medical Center where he was said to be in stable condition and expected to survive.

The fourth victim was a 26-year-old woman who was also shot in the leg. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition and expected to survive.

19-year-old Live Hoffman told The Associated Press that she witnessed the 26-year-old woman get shot, as they were standing next to each other in the VIP balcony area of the concert venue.

The girl next to me was shot point blank, and men picked her up and carried her out. For two to three minutes we still heard firing, still heard shots, we were clutching each other making sure no one was getting hit. ... I ran out, just trying to look for my friends, just trying to see if everyone was OK. Everyone was hysterical.

Although the names of three of the four victims have not yet been released, it's unclear if the victims knew each other or had a relationship to the shooter. Reports revealed that the victims were shot in different locations — one in the VIP balcony, another on the third-floor green room, one outside, and another in an unknown location — which suggests they might not have known each other.
