Your best friend is getting married, and she's probably super nervous about the future ahead. After all, so much stress happens during wedding planning, but what about the stress of actually being married? There are a few things to say to your best friend before her wedding, both to ease her mind, and because she's one of your very favorite people.

If you've never been married, here are a few things going through your friend's head right now: "What if one of my bridesmaids never shows up?" "What if my partner forgets their vows?" "What if I forget my vows, and freeze up there in front of all my friends and family?" "What if married life totally sucks?" "What if my dress decides to choose this magical moment to not fit, despite all the alterations?" And more. Really, her head is filled with panicky thoughts and absurd feelings, and even if her partner is absolutely the most amazing person on earth, she might have weird doubts that had never existed before. Weddings and marriage? A huge deal.

But, thankfully she has you. You've always been the one to help keep her level, and she'll need you now more than ever. Not only is your support totally golden, but she needs your reassurance that everything will go off without incident. And if something does happen, hey — it won't tarnish the actual marriage. The wedding is just one day.

Here are a few helpful things to say to your bestie before her big walk down the aisle.

1. "I'm really, really proud of you."

Anyone can get married. But, it's still a really scary step. If your friend is the first of the group to take the plunge, she might be wondering whether or not she'll be singled out from other group events. See, for some reason, people often assume that married people are too busy to hang. No matter what, once she says "I do," everything changes. This little nudge of support helps show her that no matter what, the two of you will be close, and that you totally approve of their union.

2. "If something happens to go wrong, that is absolutely OK."

Wedding planning takes a lot out of you, and sometimes certain vendors really act like small details are super important, and super necessary. So if your friend got wrapped up in the wedding pandemonium, she might freak out if something happens to go wrong. Planning has been a key part of her life for a while now, and she might be on edge if it's not executed the way she envisioned.

Something will go wrong. Something always goes wrong. So, you want to remind her that the part people care most about is watching her say "I do" and starting the next chapter of her life. If something goes wrong, it'll make for a funny story months after the festivities.

3. "You look absolutely stunning."

And, she will. You might break down into tears when you see her all decked out in her wedding gear. But, it's always nice to hear these words out loud from your best friend, especially if she's expressed disappointment about past hair and makeup trials, or had a weird bout of dress regret.

4. "You did such a great job planning this."

Again, wedding planning can often be like a second job, even if it's just a low-key event held in the backyard. Your friend will probably be worried that she totally missed a detail, or fear that guests won't be having fun. What she needs to focus on is the fact that she's getting married, and that's huge. Commenting on her planning effort will make her feel really good on the inside.

5. "If you need anything, just let me know."

Know what's gross about being a bride? If your dress is on the fluffy side, you might need help with going to the bathroom. It's something that nobody really talks about, or arranges before the reception takes place. It takes a true friend to make that offer, and it'll make her stress less if nature calls during the event.

Of course, there's other, non-bathroom-related ways you can help. Picking up lunch for you and the bridesmaids beforehand, or simply being a second contact that the wedding planner has access to, can really make all the difference.

6. "I've really been looking forward to this day."

Since you're best friends, her big day is a big day for you, as well. And saying this is a calm, cool way of stating "I really think you and your partner are a match made in heaven." You obviously want the best for your friend, so you're excited that she found someone great and decided to take that next step forward.
