The One 2016 Miss USA Gown That Stole The Show

by Eliza Florendo

Miss USA is always, year after year, a night filled with glitz and glamour, especially during the evening gown section. But the one 2016 Miss USA gown that stole the show was Miss District of Columbia's gold stunner of a gown that gave us major '20s vibes, while still keeping it modern. Plus, I couldn't be more in love with that gorgeous color that cascaded all the way down the dress.

While this year's crop of gowns were pretty incredible (extra shout out to Miss Georgia's white stunner that had cap sleeves and a dramatic cape), none got my attention quite like Miss District of Columbia. While most of the top ten chose gowns in reds and whites, Miss DC was the only one that chose a gorgeous gold color. Though the other gowns had touches of this beautiful metallic, she went all out.

I absolutely loved the neckline, which had long sleeves, but dipped into a deep V, taking one of this season's biggest trends and incorporating it into her gown in an elegant way. And, her gown's skirt included shimmering beaded tassels that brought us all the way back to the roaring '20s. Talk about serious glam! She nailed the vintage look.

You can see just how beautiful Miss District of Columbia's gown is.

SLAY, GIRL.

The fringe, right?

I'm in love with how the beading catches the light. Are you with me on this one? Miss DC wore a similar gold gown to the preliminaries, but tonight, she switched it up to this gown, which she complimented with simple, shiny earrings. All together, her look was perfection.

After answering the questions with intelligence and grace, Miss District of Columbia won the title of Miss USA 2016. Looks like she won more than best dressed of the evening! A huge congratulations to her – it was well deserved.
