The ONE Beauty Hack You Need In Your Routine

by Alexa Dragoumis

No matter how much or how little makeup I wear, there is one beauty hack I can't seem to part with — and trust me — it makes all the difference. There are plenty of days I wake up, look in the mirror and think, "Wow, I look tired today!" Sometimes, even after a great night's sleep, my concealer still doesn't seem to completely get rid of my dark circles. Sound familiar?

Well, luckily there's a really easy fix! If you're a makeup guru like me, you're probably already familiar with the idea of highlighting, whether it be your brow or cheek bones, chances are, it's probably second nature by now. But, the one place you should never skip is the inner corners of your eyes. When done correctly, this little bit of color will fix what your concealer can't — it will help you look more awake!

When it comes to highlighting this area, you can use a traditional highlighter or my personal favorite, a light, nude eyeshadow. Choose a color that isn't too far off from your natural skin tone, as Refinery 29 points out. If you have a tan, for example, you might want to swap that white eyeshadow for a light peachy or pink shade. And if you have dark skin naturally, opt for a shade slightly lighter than your natural skin tone. Both matte and shimmery shades will work, depending on the look you are trying to create.

To make things a little bit easier, I'm going to share a few of my favorite products for this trick. As a fan of natural makeup, I'm also going to include plenty of nude palettes that are great for summer and also happen to include amazing highlight shades.
