Kendall Jenner's Trick To Making More Closet Space

by Sienna Fantozzi

The struggle of loving fashion but not having a lot of closet space is real, and while we might think celebrities are immune to this problem, Kendall Jenner talked about her lack of closet space, as reported by Perez Hilton, and she totally faces the exact same problem so many of us do. And the way she deals with it is a little surprising.

Having lived in New York City in an apartment basically the size of a large walk-in closet, no one understands lack of storage space more than I do, but someone you may not expect to share in that pain? Kendall Jenner. The model revealed on her app on Thursday that in her Los Angeles condo, she's seriously lacking for closet space, so her solution? She cleans out her closet and tosses clothes every two months. I mean, whoa, that's ambitious. I'm lucky if I stick to an annual Spring-cleaning of my closet, so two months is pretty frequent.

"I clean out my closets once every two months. I'm not a hoarder! If I haven't worn it, then it's time to go and that's that. The piece has to be really special if I keep it. Whatever I don't auction for charity, I give to the Goodwill. It's a constant process to keep the clothes from taking over my place," Jenner said.

She even posted a picture of one of her closet clean-outs. In all fairness, it's pretty great that she donates to charity and doesn't just toss them in the trash, but there are definitely plenty of ways to keep all your clothes without having to purge every two months, even with a lack of closet space.

1. Buy A Dresser

Who says everything has to be hanging? And if you don't want to spend the money on an expensive piece of furniture, you can buy plastic or fabric organizers that'll still get the job done.

2. Store Under Your Bed

This was my saving grace in NYC. Buy an under bed container and store extra clothes, shoes, accessories, etc. in it and put it under your bed.

3. Store Off-Season Clothing

Do you really need access to your cashmere sweaters in July? Didn't think so. I got in the habit of only putting in my closet the current seasons clothing, and the off-season clothing went under the bed, in suitcases, or if you have it, a storage unit.

4. Get Creative

Anything can be a closet if you're ambitious enough. Personally, I prefer to hand wash my dishes, so a dish washer is just another space for storage for me. If you have extra cabinets, whether they're in your hall, bathroom, or kitchen, that aren't being used — totally put clothes there or use them as a shoe rack. It's better than throwing out something you'd actually want due to lack of space.
