Nick Jonas Had No Filter On 'The Tonight Show'

by Michelle Lulic

When the world first became familiar with Nick Jonas, he was the curly-haired youngest member of the popular Disney Channel boy band, the Jonas Brothers. Now, I think it's safe to say that the 23-year-old singer has left his past in the past. When he stopped by The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Monday night to perform a solo version of his hit single, "Close," the former Jonas Brother also took a seat on the interview couch. There, Jonas discussed getting a boner on the red carpet, because sharing hilarious personal anecdotes from his life meant that his honesty had no boundaries.

The singer had no filter when it came to everything from weed to getting a NARB. And, if you don't know what a NARB, well, you're about to find out. "I feel like we've become really close over the last couple of years," Jonas said to Fallon before beginning his unexpected story. That should have been our first warning, especially when he turned to the audience and continued, "And all of us have become really close." However, even that foreshadowing couldn't prepare the audience for the behind-the-scenes moment in his career that he was about to tell them. No one can tell it quite like Nick Jonas himself can.

After revealing the after effects of taking a weed lollipop, Jonas discussed the poor timing of his experience: it occurred on the morning that he was set to present at the 2014 Young Hollywood Awards. But that was just the beginning. Adding to the chaos, the "Jealous" singer also found himself with a "NARB" — an acronym that Jonas defined as "a Non-Apparent Reason Boner." (Or, as Urban Dictionary defines it, a "no apparent reason boner.") With Jimmy Fallon providing the photo and video proof to help back up his story, it certainly was an interview to remember.

If you've been following the third Jonas' career over recent years, you might not be totally shocked by his hilarious award show moment. After all, the Scream Queens star did shock fans with his revealing Flaunt magazine photoshoot, personal revelations have his sex life, and the general sexual tone of his latest self-titled album. However, when you think back to his days as the soulful young Disney star, it's hard to imagine that he's the same person.

All that we can do now is take that information and move forward with the awareness that Jonas could shock you at any moment. Or fail to shock you anymore. Just get used to the new Nick Jonas, because he is free and comfortable in his own skin. Nothing can stop him now.
