'Fast & Furious 7' Will Resume Filming Soon

by Lia Beck

After Paul Walker's tragic death in November, it was no surprise that production on Fast & Furious 7, the film Walker was in the middle of shooting, came to a halt. The film's director, writers, and production company came to a decision on how to continue without Walker in early January and a release date of April 10, 2015 was set. Now it seems, the movie is ready to move forward. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fast & Furious 7 will resume filming in April.

Fast 7 was about half way through shooting when Walker died in a car accident on Nov. 30, 2013. Sources who spoke with THR say that there is about six to eight weeks of filming remaining which will start in Atlanta, Ga on or around April 1.

After Walker's death there was much discussion from fans of the franchise about how the film should handle Walker's character, Brian O'Conner. Would he be cut from the film entirely? Would the scenes he shot be used? As was reported in January, Universal decided to have Walker's character "retire" and build in that storyline with new footage.

With the remaining production starting about one year before the film's release date, there should be plenty of time to rework the story, film the necessary new scenes, and give Brian O'Conner the send off Walker and fans of the series deserve.
