Luke Is A Country Music Singer Post-'Bachelorette'

by Molly Freeman

In the first four episodes of The Bachelorette Season 12 there have been villains and early favorites to win the whole thing. The villain I'm talking about is, of course Chad Johnson, who was eliminated in week four, while the early frontrunners seem to be Jordan Rodgers and Luke Pell — both of whom seem to make a good match for this season's bachelorette, JoJo. But, though we're watching all the drama now, filming wrapped a number of weeks ago. So what's Luke's job after The Bachelorette ?

After some internet sleuthing I can confirm that it's the same job he held prior to the show, which is to say: He's still a business owner/entrepreneur according to his LinkedIn profile, the same as before filming started. Prior to his move into entrepreneurship, he held jobs as a Drilling Foreman at Chesapeake Energy and a Corporate Account Executive at The Flippen Group. Plus, while he was still in the U.S. Army he worked as an Operations Officer in Texas. So he has some varied experience given his previous employment, but I don't believe the business he's currently working in has anything to do with these previous jobs. Instead, it has everything to do with country music.

According to Luke's Instagram and Twitter profile bios, he is an entrepreneur and songwriter. Does that mean he's in the business of songwriting (as in, he writes music for other people)? Not as far as I can tell. It seems he's mainly trying to get his own country music career off the ground. He currently has two singles of his own on iTunes and has been playing shows around Texas since 2015, posting photos on Instagram from his concerts from before he joined The Bachelorette. Plus, he played a show at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, earlier this year.

Since filming wrapped on The Bachelorette, he hasn't been posting as much about his music career. Is this to avoid accusations of being on the show for the "wrong reasons" (in order to promote his music) or because he's simply been trying to relax? Your guess is as good as mine. He did recently appear at the CMA Music Festival, so it seems he is still dedicated to country music. Plus, according to a tweet from drummer Jeromy Bailey that Luke retweeted, he did recently play a show in Harker Heights, Texas.

So, according to Luke's Bachelorette bio he may be a war veteran, but his job before and after appearing on the show has been as an entrepreneur/songwriter while he has worked on his country music career. Does that mean he might be on The Bachelorette for the wrong reasons? That remains to be seen, but if drops a full album around the time of Men Tell All, I think we'll have our answer.
