'Lip Sync Battle' S3 Guest Stars We Need To See

Is there anything better than watching two of your favorite celebrities compete against each other in any capacity? That's a rhetorical question, of course, because the answer is a resounding no. No, there isn't. Which is why Spike's breakout hit show Lip Sync Battle has become such a huge success. We love seeing Hollywood stars go head-to-head on stage and prove that deep down, everybody wants to be a rock star. (Celebs: they're just like us!) So I wasn't all the surprised when the network decided to renew the series for a third season. So when will Lip Sync Battle Season 3 premiere, exactly?

As of now, no official release date has been announced, however, the new season is expected to start taping later this year, so it'll probably be sometime this fall. And when it does make its debut, fans can look forward to a whopping 20 episodes, which is pretty great. But that still leaves us with quite a bit of time between now and then. So as a way to help make the days go by faster, I thought it might be fun to come up with a few A-list guest stars we'd love to see come on the show and sing (or at least pretend to sing) their little hearts out.

Will Ferrell

Given that the show was introduced on Jimmy Fallon's late night show and he serves as a producer, I'd say this host has some sway when it comes to convincing celebs to come on the show. And considering that Fallon and Ferrell go way back to their Saturday Night Live days, it's entirely possible this Anchorman star could make his debut in the upcoming season. Plus, you just know this is the kind of thing Ferrell excels at. He'd have a lot of fun with it.

Steve Carell

Speaking of people with connections, executive producer John Krasinski has definitely been able to wrangle some impressive star power to come on the show in the past, so why not keep that tradition going. These two former Office-mates share a lot of history together. I'm sure Carell would be more than up for competing in a little music battle for an old friend. And since no actual singing is required, it really shouldn't be too hard. (That's what she said.)

Kim Kardashian

The show's commentator Chrissy Teigen has a very close connection with the Kardashian clan, especially in regards to Kim. How amazing would it be if she could convince her BFF to battle it out onstage with someone? I mean, talk about a ratings goldmine.

Kanye West

And if he was battling against his wife, Kim? Now that would be an epic moment in TV history.

Eva Green

Penny Dreadful may be over, but thankfully, the amazing Eva Green isn't going anywhere anytime soon. In fact, she's about to star in the upcoming film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, set to debut this September. Perhaps appearing on Lip Sync Battle could end up being part of her press tour, though, I pity the person foolish enough to go up against her, considering the level of raw talent she brings to the table in everything she does.

Paul Rudd

Rudd has yet to appear on the Spike series, however, his lip sync talents have already been proven when he faced off against Fallon on The Tonight Show back in 2014. I say it's high time he faced a new adversary to see what he's really made of.

Meryl Streep

OK, so this one may be a bit of a stretch, considering this is Meryl freaking Streep we're talking about here. Though, she did star alongside Krasinski during the film It's Complicated and worked closely with his wife Emily Blunt on the set of The Devil Wears Prada, so you never know. She could be game for it. And hey, a girl can dream, right?

Suffice to say, if any of these appearances actually happen then Season 3 is guaranteed to be the best one yet.
