Watching Game of Thrones tends to bring out the ruthless side of all of us, since when villains die we tend to get a little bit too gleeful. In an interview with Bustle, Iwan Rheon responds to the Game of Thrones Ramsay memes that popped up after his character was eaten alive by his own "loyal" hounds. "Oh, I couldn't... I don't care," he says, genuinely laughing it off. "Yeah, whatever ... I can't let any of that bother me."
After the momentous event on Sunday, we've seen everything from pictures of Ramsay's face on dog food to jokes about "Who Let The Dogs Out." Will we ever forget that Baha Men song? Can we, please? It's been 16 years.
In a way, it's a compliment for the actor. "It's really, really flattering that people reacted to the character," Rheon says. "Hopefully it means that people really, really hate him, and it means I'm doing my job well."
It's not like the character deserves a break! Even the fact that the episode and the showdown that preceded Ramsay's demise is called "The Battle of the Bastards" (not "The Battle of One Bastard And A Recently Legitimized Bolton" or anything) is a blow to the villain. The series itself punished him in many ways.
So, if making jokes about the way Ramsay died helps to relieve all the tension that he caused on Game of Thrones, go bananas. If Rheon's fine with it, I am too.
