No Victims Dead In German Movie Theater Attack

Update: As of Thursday morning, Reuters and the Associated Press are reporting that the gunman who opened fire in a Viernheim cinema complex has been killed by authorities, but that there were no serious injuries caused by the gunman.

Earlier: On Thursday morning EST, German news outlets reported a shooting at the Kinopolis cinema complex in Viernheim, Germany, a town near Frankfurt. BBC News reports that a masked man entered the cinema complex and fired at least one shot; according to Reuters, he is now reported to be dead, having been killed by authorities. He is reported to be the only person killed as a result of the attack.

Reuters and the Associated Press have reported that no one else besides the attacker was seriously injured in the attack; previous reports that up to 50 people had been injured in the attack appear to have been incorrect.

CNN reports that the attacker entered the movie theater at around 3 p.m. local time, and may have been heavily armed. CNN also reports that the cinema is part of a large shopping center that is visited by around 200,000 people each day.
