How Arya & The Hound Can Meet Again On 'GoT'

by Alaina Urquhart-White

The June 19 episode of Game of Thrones may have erased all previous installments from your memory, considering that "Battle of the Bastards" was quite possibly the greatest episode of TV in history, but Season 6 still has a lot of loose ends floating around. Let's not forget that after being stationary for a while, we now have two characters on the move who may cross paths again. Now that they've said goodbye to their formers posts and are back out in the world, will Arya and the Hound meet again?

I think Games of Thrones is getting ready for a reunion here. The sheer fact that the Hound is alive kind of points to the idea that there is some unfinished business between Arya and his character. After all, who was it who stole his gold and then left him to die after Brienne beat his butt into the dirt (and off a cliff)? I doubt that the Hound has forgotten this minor detail, though he may be on a bit of a different path now that his friends who were building the Sept seem to have taught him that it's OK to have an emotion besides blind rage. He seems to recognize now that he was not exactly the easiest person to deal with and he might even be able to understand why Arya ended things the way she did. Of course, all of this only matters if the two do come in contact with each other, and that seems to be a very likely possibility.

Arya and the Hound may actually be heading in the same direction. A few weeks ago, Arya just up and left the Faceless Men, but not before telling Jaqen that she was Arya Stark of Winterfell and that she was going home. Whether her new journey will eventually lead her back to the Hound depends on one major thing: Lady Stoneheart. Many fans have theorized that Lady Stoneheart will soon appear on Game of Thrones and if that happens, the Brotherhood Without Banners will be very important. In George R.R. Martin's books, the Brotherhood Without Banners are the guys who resurrected Catelyn Stark and then did her bidding. Specifically, Beric Dondarrion was the one who gave his life to bring her back. Now, who are Beric and the Brotherhood currently hanging out with on the show? That would be the Hound.

If Lady Stoneheart happens, Catelyn will head to Winterfell to be with her family and the Brotherhood will likely be right alongside her. Since Arya's on her way there now, if the Hound sticks with the Brotherhood, they are more than likely to cross paths.

There's also the chance that The Hound will head to King's Landing because his brother, the Mountain, is there and there's more than a little sibling rivalry between them. In this case, the meet-up would happen because Arya being back in action means that her list is back in action, and there are people in King's Landing at the top of it.

Whether in Winterfell thanks to Lady Stoneheart or King's Landing because of their own missions, at this point, a reunion between Arya and the Hound is all but guaranteed.
