When Can I Get Twitter Stickers?

If you're anything like me, you already love Twitter. Rumor has it, though, Twitter is making their social media app even better by adding Stickers. You might be wondering: When can I get Twitter Stickers? And for that matter, what the heck are Twitter Stickers, anyway? Twitter Stickers offer a similar customization that is super popular with users of Snapchat, Instagram, and so forth.

You know how there's nothing more fun than adding crazy borders, filters, and designs to your photos before you post them to social media? Well, Twitter Stickers are offering you a similar opportunity. With Twitter Stickers, you can even add emojis to your pictures, and let's be real, is there a more effective way to communicate than with a well-chosen emoji in our day and age? I think not (or at least not when it comes to social media, that is).

As Twitter's Elizabeth Luke tells Bustle, Twitter Stickers are unique because "they'll be 'visual hashtags' – i.e. when viewing a photo, people will be able to tap the Sticker to view a timeline of public photos from around the world that used that same Sticker." Super cool, am I right? Here's an example of what your picture with Twitter Stickers could look like, posted to your Twitter feed:

Sasank Reddy, Sr. Product Manager of Twitter, goes on to tell Bustle that soon users will be able to "browse our rotating sets of stickers to join in on real-time conversations, and select from the library of hundreds of accessories, emoji, and props to make your photos more fun." Even better, Reddy tells us that users will be able to select "multiple stickers on a photo, resize and rotate them, and place them anywhere on your picture." Basically, our options will be pretty much endless, which is exactly what I look for when it comes to creativity and self-expression.

Here's an example of what the Twitter Sticker accessories will look like, thanks to Twitter:

Pretty awesome, right? Personally, I love that the picture "tags" will be searchable, so you can select a Sticker and see how others around the world are using it. I think there's a lot of potential to be had when it comes to emojis and trending topics, especially as we already associate so many emojis with cultural phenomena and coded language.

So, to answer our initial question: When do we get to use Twitter Stickers, anyway? Well, unfortunately, Twitter Stickers aren't available to users just yet. According to Reddy, people who use Twitter for iOs and Twitter for Android should gain access to Twitter Stickers within the next few weeks. So keep checking your accounts, people! The future is at our fingertips.
