Derek's Journey May Not Be Over On 'Bach'

I get that it’s really hard to eliminate contestants when you’re the Bachelor or the Bachelorette, but JoJo is kicking out some really good guys from her show. First went Wells Adams, DJ and Nashville cutie patootie, and now, JoJo set Derek Peth, Jim Halpert lookalike, free. Big mistake, JoJo. Huge. Luckily, Derek’s journey looking for love on reality television doesn’t have to end here — Derek Peth should totally be the next Bachelor. Are you listening, ABC? The kids will love it!

JoJo eliminated Derek just because she wasn’t feeling it with him as much as she was feeling a relationship with Chase, Jordan, Robby, etc. It’s the whole point of the show, though it’s not easy to say goodbye. Sometimes, it just doesn’t work out. But Derek is handsome, charming, sweet, and very in touch with his emotional side, so why shouldn’t he get a second chance at love? One thing that I always appreciated about Derek was his ability to own whatever he was feeling. He was always very expressive (maybe too expressive at times) about his feelings for JoJo, and being present and focusing on one’s inner self is an important part of being the Bachelor. You have the hearts of 25 women in your hand, and you can’t take that lightly.

Another important reason why Derek could be the next Bachelor? He knows what its like to get his heart broken on television. I mean, he cried on the ride home from his two-on-one date with JoJo and Chase, even though he kept trying to will himself not to. I think experiencing that makes you more sensitive when you have to eliminate women from the group on The Bachelor. Handsome, caring, sensitive, looks like John Krasinski — what more do we need in a Bachelor? Derek has it all.
