Sasha Obama Is Reportedly On Twitter

by Erin Corbett

At Hillary Clinton's campaign rally in North Carolina on Tuesday, President Obama spoke a most important truth. Specifically, he said that his daughter Sasha tweets. In an effort to find what Sasha's thinking and tweeting about, we're wondering: What is Sasha Obama's Twitter account? Does it actually exist? Obama started the rumor during the Clinton campaign event when he said, "Everybody can tweet, but nobody knows what it takes to do the job until you’ve sat behind the desk. I mean, Sasha tweets, but she doesn’t think that she should thereby be sitting behind the desk." That's a valid point — tweeting doesn't make you an exceptional candidate to run a country. (Even though Sasha is literally a better option than Trump, just saying.)

After a failed effort to find the young Obama's Twitter account, many across social media are coming up with some serious theories and hilarious jokes about Sasha's Twitter presence. On the other hand, President Obama could have taken the time to think about why we didn't know about his daughter's tweets in the first place. Perhaps she has it so well-hidden for a reason. (The reason being that she doesn't want us to know about it). Maybe that's what Obama was thinking about in this meme. Here's what people online are saying about Sasha's Twitter account:

At this point, it's still unclear whether Sasha Obama is really on Twitter, and whether anyone has found her account. And if you think about it, the president didn't actually say his daughter has her own Twitter account, but rather that she tweets. Maybe the world is searching in the wrong place. Maybe we've been reading Sasha's tweets all along, but she just tweets as POTUS or FLOTUS.

However, if she really is out there in the Twitterverse sharing words from her own account, we probably won't find her. I mean, just consider all the people taking to Twitter to come forward about their "true" identity as Sasha Obama in the wake of this big news. Even if we never find the 15-year-old's Twitter account, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Thanks, Obama.
