New 'Beauty And The Beast' Poster Is Finally Here

by Michelle Lulic

Disney sure knows how to hit us right in those childhood feels. And in support of the upcoming release of the company's live-action rendition of a beloved animated classic, Disney has released a teaser poster for Beauty And The Beast. As expected, the image sports a familiar viewpoint of the Beast's rose contained in its protective glass casing. However, the frost-bitten look of the glass gives an even larger ode to the original Disney animated motion picture.

For one, the new poster — although set to promote the upcoming live-action version of the story — certainly has an enchanted, almost hand-drawn kind of feel to it. With each line of the frosted glass so well-defined, it's clear that this poster is not just a still photograph from the film itself. And, with the addition of the snowfall and ice in the first place, it's not just the original Beauty and the Beast animated film that's being brought to attention. In fact, fans may also be reminded of the film's 1997 released sequel, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas. Although, as of right now, it seems as if Disney's original tale as old as time is going to be the only one included in the live-action version.

Meanwhile, one of the major things that fans may notice about this poster (aside from its general beauty) is that — much like the Beauty And The Beast teaser trailer — there is still no clear look at the actors and characters in the film. And, with Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, a look at the star-studded cast and the animation of the household items come to life is definitely one highly-anticipated aspect of the film. But, as it seems, we'll just have to wait a little bit longer. And, in order to hold over my excitement, I wouldn't mind staring at this gorgeous poster for quite some time.

Beauty And The Beast hits theaters nationwide on March 17, 2017.
