Here's How Much Starbucks' New Sangria Tea Costs

by Kaitlyn Wylde

Over the last few weeks, Starbucks has been treating us to all sorts of menu updates and additions that have been enhancing our morning grind vibes, exponentially. This week, they're introducing a new *exotic* ice tea and I'm totally amped to tell you everything you need to know about it like: how much does the Tavana Shaken Iced Berry Sangria Herbal Tea cost and what does it look like and when can you get it and why you want to ditch your coffee for it, and why it's going to change your life forever and solve all of your problems.

First of all, the tea, which is available in the United States and Canada on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 (and Monday, July 11, 2016 for Starbucks Rewards members) is made with a fresh brewing of Teavana Iced Passion Tango Tea. The tea has a blend of hibiscus, lemongrass and apple flavors — and sangria syrup that has a blend of peach, elderberry, blood orange and raspberry flavors. Once that's all brewed and stirred, the tea is hand-shaken with blackberries, orange slices, apple juice, and ice for an insanely refreshing tea that's both sweet and tart. It's basically the closest you can get to your Friday night sangria, on a Tuesday morning. All the freshness, all the fun, none of the drunkenness.

Despite the fact that this fancy, fruity drink sounds like an expensive mocktail you might order at a lux restaurant, it's actually surprisingly cheap. Depending on where you are, it's $3.95-$4.25. And it's totally caffeine-free so if you want to have more than one, you won't risk emptying your wallet or having that mid-morning anxiety attack that can sneak up on you when you have more than one cup of coffee.

Crisp teas are also the best ate afternoon refreshers. While caffeine-free ones won't give you a jolt, they can up your tastebuds and give your blood stream just enough of a sugary rush to make the rest of the work day seem more exciting than it really is to help you get through it.

You can try this drink throughout the rest of the summer — or as long as supplies last. Which might be sooner than September if a zombie apocalypse comes to town because I read somewhere that zombies are obsessed with sangria. And if you're of age, feel free to take your tea home and add a little wine or rum or whatever you like to help it live up to its name! Or! Another fun idea: pour it into your ice cube tray, freeze and use to liven up your water in the morning, or add to an adult beverage later on. Oh the things you can do with fresh fruity goodness in the summer!
