Mike Pence's Ties To The Trump Family

Update: On Friday via one simple tweet, Donald Trump confirmed Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is his Vice Presidential running mate.

Earlier: Like it or not, Donald Trump is the presumptive republican nominee. And as a potential future president of the United States, he will obviously need a vice prez. It's looking like Trump's running mate may be Mike Pence, a governor from Indiana, as reported by Reuters. But what are Mike Pence's ties to the Trump family?

As the potential VP picks have been announced — including Newt Gingrich and Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama — the mind wanders as to how Trump might come to a decision. The only thing we can do is look for connections as to how the two know each other, and what could potentially bring them together as running mates.

According to The New York Times, Mike Pence met with Trump on Wednesday morning in Indianapolis, most likely to discuss the future nomination. Along for the ride were Trump's children, Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka, and son-in-law, Jared Kushner. So clearly Pence is at least acquainted with the people he could very well be spending a lot of time with in the near future.

As for the world of politics, the two men have presidential hopefulness in common. Pence considered running for president in 2016, according to Tierney McAfee on People. "The Indiana governor, who also served in the U.S. House for 12 years, has been floated by supporters as a possible presidential candidate in more than one election, and even considered campaigning for the top job in 2016 before ultimately choosing to run for a second term as governor instead," Tierney said.

Trump has promised to make a final VP pick by tomorrow, so I'm sure more info as to how the two men are connected will become clearer soon.
