Maisie Williams' Celebrates Her Emmy Nom

by Lia Beck

It's that time of year again: Emmy nomination day. On Thursday morning, many fan-favorite shows and actors were nominated for awards, including HBO series Game of Thrones, which scored a massive 23 Emmy noms, including creative arts Emmys. One of these nominations was for Maisie Williams, who is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. (Her co-stars Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke are also nominated in the category.) Like many other nominees, Williams expressed her gratitude on social media, only Williams' reaction is a little bit creepy.

The actor used a filter that morphed her face into having giant eyes and a tiny mouth, and posted a video to Instagram expressing her excitement for the nom. In the video, Williams says, “I got just nominated for an Emmy. Ahhhhhh!!" Oh yeah, and her voice is also modulated to sound much deeper and scarier.

But it wasn't only a silly reaction from Williams on her big day. The star also released a more statement to Bustle about her nom, which reads,

I am so grateful to be a part of Game of Thrones, so to be nominated for an Emmy is beyond words, but I would like to say thank you to George for creating such an amazing character and to Dan, David and everyone associated with the show who bring Arya to life.

Now, after reading her sweet message, be sure to check out Williams' weird one in the video above.
