The reason his death has been so monumental is that as an actor and a person, he touched on something deep within all of us: the self conscious searching for what makes us who we are. And it's that emotion that's so present in each and every one of these clips, and it's unquestionably what made Hoffman an actor for the ages. There are few actors or musicians I'd gladly sit and cry over for 21 minutes of my day, but Philip Seymour Hoffman is absolutely one of them, which is what makes Slain's work so heart-wrenchingly appropriate.
