Miranda Kerr's Engagement Ring Is Beautiful

by Melanie Richtman

On Wednesday, supermodel Miranda Kerr announced her engagement to Evan Spiegel, the 26-year-old billionaire Snapchat founder, by sharing a photo on Instagram of her ring behind the couple's custom "marry me" bitmoji Snapchat filter, obviously. So what does Miranda Kerr's engagement ring from Evan Spiegel look like? You need to see it to believe it.

It's actually surprisingly simple. While you might assume that Kerr's billionaire beau would splurge for an out-of-this-world diamond the size of Kim Kardashian's 15-karat stunner (a little gaudy, if you ask me, but if the shoe fits), but Spiegel kept it simple with a round 2.5 karat diamond.

In an interview with Us Weekly , jewelry expert Michael O'Connor estimated that Kerr's engagement ring would've cost somewhere between $55,000 and $75,000, which is a surprisingly modest choice for a billionaire. I'm assuming the old tradition of spending three months of your salary on an engagement ring is not applicable to billionaires.

Instead of splurging on an over-the-top ring, Spiegel opted for something classic and timeless, which is the best way to go if you ask me.

This isn't the first pretty engagement ring to adorn Kerr's fingers. The engagement ring that Kerr received in 2010 from Orlando Bloom was also rather beautiful, featuring a vintage-style oval cut diamond, flanked by several smaller diamonds on a gold band.

Kerr and Spiegel have been dating for a little over a year.

They're pretty cute.
