Rihanna Will Be On 'Bates Motel'

by Kristie Rohwedder

Just when I thought the chatter surrounding the Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets dance scene would be the biggest Rihanna news to come out of this year’s Comic-Con, A&E went and proved me wrong. (San Diego Comic-Con? More like San Rihego ComRih-Con, am I right? Oof, I'm sorry about that. Let's move on.) During Friday's Bates Motel panel at the annual pop culture convention, the show’s producers announced that the pop deity will be on the fifth and final season. As TVLine reports, Rihanna will be on Bates Motel . And no, this isn't just some lil ol' celebrity cameo— The “Needed Me” songstress will take on the iconic role of Marion Crane in the Psycho prequel series. Yes, as in that Marion Crane. The legendary Ms. Robyn Fenty is heading to the small screen to play one of Alfred Hitchcock's most famous characters. Shower we so lucky?

As The Hollywood Reporter points out, Marion on Bates Motel will be the Grammy Award-winning recording artist's biggest scripted acting role yet. RiRi's previous acting credits include 2015 animated flick Home and board game-turned-maritime action extravaganza Battleship. Oh, and may we never forget about her glorious turn in MoonQuake Lake, the movie-within-a-movie that appeared in 2014’s Annie remake:
