ColourPop Made A Big Change With Its Applicator

by Kali Borovic

ColourPop has been on a roll lately. The brand has launched new formulas, collabs, and now it's even changing its packaging, too. According to its Snapchat, ColourPop changed its liquid lipstick applicator in a big way recently. The new wand is designed to pick up more product than ever, so don't be alarmed if your new liquid lipstick looks a little different than usual.

The indie brand is constantly coming out with new and inventive products. It even has some tie-dye eyeshadows in the works, and an already-existing tie-dye highlighter. Not only does the brand keep all its products completely affordable as well, but it even goes out of its way to make the packaging the best it can possibly be. For the Ultra Metallic Lip shades, it has now decided to test out a new applicator tip that's a bit more fluffy.

According to Colourpop's Snapchat account on Jul. 23, the brand changed up the length of the bristles so that people can now get more product on the brush. CP also said that this isn't exactly a permanent change. It's just something it is trying out and it fully intends to listen to customer feedback. Unfortunately, not too many people seem impressed by it, based on looking at Twitter. That might just be because ColourPop didn't announce the change before it happened, though.

You can tell just how fluffy it is now from the Snapchat picture. Before, the bristles were barely even noticeable. Now I can definitely tell that they're there. It does seem to hold more product, though. Here's a photo of the two different applicators up close.

The first image is ColourPop's Ultra Matte Lip in Chi and the other is its Ultra Metallic Lip in Man Eater. The difference is pretty noticeable. I purchased both of these shades at the same time, so it looks like the brand isn't modifying every single applicator — just offering a new option.

Everything else about the applicator has stayed the same, though. I guess this all just comes down to personal preference.
