With a recurring event such as the Summer Olympics, which brings out thousands of athletes every four years, there are bound to be a few names and faces that stick out from the crowd. The Rio Olympics Diving Schedule seems to have placed Daley's diving category – the Men's 10m Platform – on the tail-end of the multi-week listing. Daley will be leaping off the diving board on Friday, Aug. 19 at 3:00 p.m. ET for the Men's 10m Platform Preliminaries. If he makes it past that, which is likely considering he won a bronze medal in 2012, Daley will compete again at 10:00 a.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 20 for the Men's 10m Platform Semifinals. He could even possibly return that same day for the Men's 10m Platform Finals at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The Debut Of The "Firework" Dive
Since London, Daley has been working with his coach to develop a whole new dive to showcase in Rio. The "firework" dive, as Daley refers to it, features him performing a series of somersaults before executing a twist just before he hits the water. Daley says in the video above that this type of dive has never been performed during the 10m Platform event, making it a big risk to present to the judges. However, he is hoping that the unique dive will excite the judges enough to help him bring home a medal.

Daley has won numerous British diving competitions, contributing to his massive 24 gold medals from national and international events. His appearance in the 2015 British Championships showed Daley practicing his signature "firework" dive, as well as many other forms of diving.
