Serena Williams' Olympics Schedule Is Impressive

There are a lot of different events to look forward to during the 2016 Rio Olympics, but considering that tennis has always been one of my personal favorite sports to watch, I'm very much looking forward to when Serena Williams will compete in the tennis event, in the hopes of taking home some well-earned medals. If you recall, Williams received an Olympic gold medal back in 2012, so it's fair to say that she's definitely the one to watch throughout this competition. And according to NBCOlympics.com, the star athlete will be competing in both the tennis women's singles and doubles alongside her sister, Venus Williams, throughout the Rio Games. So her schedule is going to be pretty jam-packed to say the least.

Speaking of Williams' schedule, here's how this is roughly going to play out. First, she'll be assigned a day and time slot for the first round for both women's doubles and singles, which will take place over the course of two days on Saturday, Aug. 6 and Sunday, Aug. 7 anytime between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. (ET). As of now, the has yet to take place, so we don't know where Williams will fall in this lineup, but we'll be able to narrow that down a bit more once the dates get closer. In the meantime, just know it'll happen at some point between those two days.

Then, if Williams proves victorious in the first round (which, honestly, she probably will), then she'll move onto the second round of women's doubles and singles, which will kick off on Monday, Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (ET). From there, the women's singles third round and women's doubles second round/quarterfinals will happen on Tuesday, Aug. 9 between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. (ET), which leaves the women's singles and doubles quarterfinals to fully play out on Wednesday, Aug. 10 between (you guessed it) 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. (ET).

Once that is completed (and believe me, I'm getting exhausted just thinking about all of this), then the women's singles and doubles will enter into the semifinals on Thursday, Aug. 11, which will take place sometime between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. (ET). And then, finally, Williams would reach the point in the competition where medals can start getting distributed, beginning with the Women's doubles Bronze Medal Match, which will take place on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. (ET), followed by the Women's singles Bronze Medal Match and Gold Medal Match, both happening on that same day with the former starting at 3 p.m. (ET) and the latter at 5 p.m. (ET). The Women's doubles Gold Medal Match will then air on Sunday, Aug. 14 at 1 p.m. (ET).

I realize that's a lot of information to take in at one time and there's no guarantee that Serena Williams will make it that far in this year's Olympics, but considering she's now won 22 Grand Slam titles, she'll definitely give the other competitors a run for their money and could very well see this thing until the very end. And if she does, you aren't going to want to miss a moment of it.
