Hey, Haters — Jelena's Got Something To Say

by Christine DiStasio

Just stop trying to tell Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez that their relationship is dysfunctional — because they already know. On Monday, a video of Bieber and Gomez dancing to John Legend's "Ordinary People" surfaced on Instagram. The former lovebirds have sparked a lot of reunion rumors lately and with them, a lot of opinions about whether or not they should get back together. Well, it looks like they might be back to their old girlfriend/boyfriend status and they just want to dance about it.

Bieber's since deleted the sexy and emotional videos from his account, but that's not going to erase their routine from our memory, or the Internet for that matter.

First of all, let's talk about the fact that they chose Legend's 2005 hit that's all about the ups and downs of being in a relationship and how hard it can be to love someone sometimes. That's absolutely NOT a coincidence, people. They've got something to say about you (and Taylor Swift) not supporting their love. During the excerpt of "Ordinary People" that plays in the video Legend croons:

Girl I'm in love with you/ This ain't the honeymoon/ Past the infatuation phase/ Right in the thick of love/ At times we get sick of love/ It seems like we argue everyday

And:

I know I misbehaved/ And you made your mistakes/ And we both still got room left to grow/ And though love sometimes hurts/ I still put you first/ And we'll make this thing work/ But I think we should take it slow

So what are the Biebz and Selena trying to tell us via interpretive dance besides that they think we should mind our own business? That they get it — their relationship isn't perfect and they aren't perfect but at the end of the day, they're in love ... and they're both really great dancers. They don't need your approval and hey, they are planning to be responsible — they "think they should take it slow," after all.

So back off, haters, lest you want another interpretive dance routine from Jelena.
