'BiP' Season 3 Is Filmed At A Familiar Spot

by Kayla Hawkins

Through all of the awkward dates, rose ceremonies, and endlessly flowing alcohol, at the heart of Bachelor in Paradise is an all-expenses paid vacation in Mexico. So is Bachelor in Paradise filmed in a hotel? Is it possible to recreate BiP Season 3 for yourself? Well, I have some good news and bad news. The bad news is unless you have a couple dozen former reality stars looking to get back in the game to look for love and emotionally torture them for weeks, you won't really be able to get the overall Paradise vibe. But, you can luxuriate in their surroundings by visiting Playa Escondida Sayulita, the resort where both Seasons 2 and 3 were filmed.

Honestly, even if you're not a fan of Bachelor in Paradise or ever seen an episode of any of the Bachelor franchise, this resort seems pretty amazing. It's the type of place that has a whole section on its website dedicated to its spa services. And, yes, you're going to have to pay for that level of luxury — rooms run from $190 up to $495 a night. But look at these pictures of the resort, and you'll understand exactly why people are willing to pay so much to stay. And, it's even playing into the Bachelor in Paradise obsession on Twitter.

I'm pretty sure just looking at a picture of those views counts as a vacation. And, the natural vistas are very important to Playa Escondida, since they describe it as "in perfect balance with nature."

And if you like swimming, there's a multitude of options. The cast of Bachelor in Paradise might be limited in their aquatic adventures for audio-visual reasons (it's really hard to make compelling TV out of a couple boogie-boarding for sixty-five minutes as opposed to a much simpler long walk on the beach).

There must be a certain thrill to walking through the hotel on your Mexican vacation and realizing that a rose ceremony happened right where you're standing. That alone probably justifies making a trip to this resort, if all of the amazing sights and the luxe price doesn't convince you that it would be a good time.

That said, I wouldn't recommend trying to recreate Bachelor in Paradise Season 3 at Playa Escondida. But, that's because simply staying at the hotel and enjoying yourself without having to relinquish your connection to the outside world and have uncomfortable dinners with a person that you've only known from following them on Twitter doesn't sound quite as nice as simply enjoying what the hotel has to offer.
