Britney Spears' VMAs Performance Could Be Classic

One of the world's most iconic entertainers is returning to the MTV Video Music Awards stage this year, and she has one thing to say: It's Britney, b*tch. Yep, Britney Spears will perform at the 2016 VMAs for the first time since her 2007 performance of "Gimme More," because this pop princess isn't done making VMAs history just yet. While most details are being kept under wraps, we at least know that it will be a collaboration with G-Eazy. The duo will give a world-premiere, live performance of their synthy sex jam "Make Me..." from Spears's ninth studio album, Glory. Maybe it's my inner '90s fangirl talking, but I have a feeling that, in addition to this song, we may be knocking on nostalgia's door when it comes to what songs Spears performs during the VMAs come August 28.

To get fans pumped, the singer posted a promo that teases her appearance and nods to her iconic past performances. From the time she hit the stage alongside *NSYNC with the "...Baby One More Time/Tearin' Up My Heart" mash-up in '99 to her confusing yet glorious performance of "Gimme More" in '07, there have been snakes, sparkly nude jumpsuits, girl-on-girl kisses, and much more that have allowed Spears to make pop culture history on the VMA stage.

Call me crazy, but I feel like she may be trying to tell us something in this video. Will she surprise us and perform any of the classics? This is what I'm thinking...

Here is a perfume bottle that looks similar to the one she sprays on herself in the beginning of the "Circus" video.

My spidey senses are telling me this is the same red jumpsuit from her "Oops!... I Did It Again" video.

We need to talk about the snake from her "Slave 4 U" performance in 2001.

As well as some bridal gear paying ode to her 2003 "Like a Virgin" performance (and makeout session) with Madonna and Christina Aguilera.

Here's the snake basically wearing the veil.

How about that black hat like the one she gracefully threw off her head performing "Satisfaction/Oops!... I Did it Again" in 2000?

Basically, the whole performance is projecting to be glittery as hell.

Am I missing anything?

As if the suspense isn't killing you slowly already, there are more surprise performers to be announced. I know, it hurts. But on August 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, our questions (and hopefully prayers) will be answered.
