Lady Gaga Is Starring In Bradley Cooper's Movie

by Caitlyn Callegari

I was never one of Lady Gaga's "little monsters," if you will, but I can't lie and say I haven't jammed out in the car to the likes of "Paparazzi" and "Alejandro" a few trillion times. Despite being a casual fan, even I can appreciate Lady Gaga's foray into the small and big screens as of late. I was honestly skeptical of her acting, pre-American Horror Story: Hotel, but I am happy to say that she proved me wrong and probably countless others as her Golden Globe would infer. So, the news that Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born will feature Lady Gaga , per Billboard, is actually quite exciting to me. I'm ready for her to wow me once again because she hasn't disappointed yet.

Lady Gaga isn't the only reason that I'm hyped for this movie, though. As Billboard relays, not only is this Gaga's "first studio starring role," but it's also Bradley Cooper's first time in the director's chair. He'll be acting in it too, opposite her, as Deadline explains. Being two film virgins, in their own respective ways, could prove disastrous for some duos. But I think pairing these two up is actually a stroke of genius. Greg Silverman, Warner Brothers President of Creative Development and WW Productions, even stated, "The world is in for a treat as these great artists craft an all new vision of A Star is Born."

Here's why this pairing will not only work, but prove to be movie magic.

1. They Both Attended Prestigious Performing Arts Schools

Gaga went to NYU Tisch School of the Arts (she did drop out, though), and Cooper went to the Actors Studio Drama School. Which means they've had similar training and they'll probably work well off one another, as two people who play opposite each other should.

2. They Have Mutual Respect For Each Other's Talent

As evidenced by this tweet, and its cool new hashtag I intend to put to great use.

3. They Both Clearly Know What They're Doing

Who better to star in a movie that's centered around, as Billboard says, "a young singer who finds rising success," than someone who has actually lived that life. This was Cooper's thought process, probably.

4. Gaga's Making Her Mark On The Movie's Music

A Star Is Born will have music both written and sung by Gaga. As you probably know, it's usually a great thing when Gaga writes and sings her own music. After all, she was nominated for a Best Original Song Oscar for, "Til It Happens To You." So, she's got the music knowledge...

5. Whereas B. Coop's Holding Down The Acting Fort

Gaga's good, don't get me wrong, but Cooper's got the experience and the talent to help guide her through. Having an actor you're working with also be your director also has to be super helpful. And, lest we forget, he's also been nominated for Academy Awards. There's a nice balance in place, here.

6. Beginner's Luck Is On Their Side

Coupled with both of their massive talents, of course. There is something to be said about the excitement and passion that these first timers undoubtedly have. Sure, it can sometimes be a disadvantage going into something with your training wheels still on, but, then again, there are instances where a fresh take is exactly what a movie needs. I think this is one of those times.

Listen, I'll be first on line for tickets. Behind all of the tried and true Little Monsters, of course.
