Here's Your End Of Summer Bucket List

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but fall is just around the corner. What? How did that happen?! Believe me, I'm just as shocked and dismayed as anyone. Didn't it just get warm, like, a month ago? But not to worry—we've still got a few precious weeks of summer left. So you know what that means: it's time to make the most of it. And that's why I've come up with the ultimate end of summer bucket list. Hurry up, we've got less than a month to hit every item.

1. Go to a music festival

Look, I get huge 4-day camping festivals aren't everyone's thing, but that's the beauty of music festivals: just like people, they come in all shapes and sizes. No, I am not sorry for making that corny joke. Whatever type of music you're into, you should be able to find some sort of multiple-hours-long event in which a series of musical acts perform. Festival season is coming to a close, so there's no time to waste.

2. Attend a free outdoor event

If you live in or near a city, chances are you have one of these. Whether it be music, arts, food, I'm confident you can find something happening that's outside and free. Soak up the sunshine while you can, people. Winter is a lot colder with a lot less free things to do.

3. Do something you would normally do inside, but outside

I hope you're seeing a theme emerge here. One of the many reasons I love summer is because I can do the things I would normally do inside, outside. For instance, if I'm working remotely, instead of doing it from my apartment I'll take my laptop to the park and work. I realize this particular example is not feasible for everyone for multiple reasons—not everyone can work remotely or live near a park with free wifi, for instance—but there are plenty of indoor activities you can take outdoors. Draw, read a book, paint your nails—there are so many possibilities. Basically, just go outside.

4. Craft something

Not sure if it's related to the weather, but my friends and I are all super into crafting right now. Even if you're not a regular Martha Stewart you can still make something easy, like a cute headband, or even just spice up an existing piece of clothing with some cool trimmings.

5. Grill out

You know what kind of grill I'm actually talking about. I mean, if you didn't go to at least one barbecue, did summer even happen?

6. Drink Frosé

The only thing that can make the wine of the summer even more summery is by freezing it. It's easy to make your own at home with a blender.

7. Go crazy with temporary tattoos

Wearing temporary tats in the winter is no fun, since nobody can see them underneath your 16 layers of clothing. Personally, I'm all about the temporary face tat, but do whatever feels right. Bonus points if you also tan around the tattoo to give yourself a tan line.

8. Read a book

Summer reading lists aren't just for schoolchildren, people. Pick up a book. That goes double for those of us who "never read" because we "don't have time."

9. Take a fashion or beauty risk

Now's the time to try out that bright blue lipstick, attempt those fishtail braids, or break out that crop top. I will probably be doing all three at once without any semblance of shame. It's summer! Anything goes!

10. Go to the beach

This is another one of those must-dos. If you didn't go to the beach at least once this summer, you did something wrong. However, I will allow it if you don't live near a beach.

11. Check out something new in your neighborhood

Try out a new restaurant, hit up a bar you've always passed by but never went into, or even just walk around a pocket you've yet to explore. This will come in handy when winter hits and the desire to leave your house dwindles with each passing day.

12. Go to a rooftop

I'm not picky here—this can be a rooftop bar or restaurant, or just your friend's roof (provided you're allowed to be up there). Bask in the rays. Enjoy the view. Everything's better on a roof.
