The Most Adorable 2016 VMAs Red Carpet Moments

by Taylor Ferber

When it comes to the annual award show, the VMAs red carpet is as notoriously bonkers as the actual VMAs. First, there's the no-limits fashion. Rose McGowan's 1998 dress is a work of art that should be placed in The Louvre directly next to The Mona Lisa if it hasn't been already. And if Nicki Minaj's whimsical 2011 getup isn't on display at the Toys 'R' Us headquarters, then I don't even know anymore. And if the outfits aren't entertaining enough, there are the plus ones. What ever happened to Justin Bieber's snake friend and Pete Wentz's monkey date? Are they hanging out as we speak? I need answers. Yes, every year, there are those select icons who make the VMAs red carpet their stage, but this year, celebs turned heads in a different way.

No, there wasn't another Courtney Love circa '95. Or a Miley Cyrus, who pronounced 2013 year of the tongue with one simple red carpet pose. Most of the time, all cares are thrown out the window at the VMAs, which is why the celebs have birthed so many iconic pop culture moments at the show. This year, though, they're surprisingly endearing. While other pre-shows are great and all, the VMAs red carpet cuteness happening this year makes it one of the greatest carpets of. all. time. Here are some celebs who made the 2016 VMAs red carpet pretty damn adorable.

So, Bey and her royal blood line showed up looking like the fairy princesses they are:

Bey also invited the mothers of Oscar Grant, Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, and Mike Brown to walk the carpet with her. And they all looked incredible:

Catfish creator Nev Schulman understandably couldn't stop loving on his pregnant fiancée Laura Perlongo's belly:

They had some competition though, because, Kimye:

To keep the cuteness strong, Desiigner walked the carpet with his mom and planted sweet smooches on her cheek:

Damn you, VMAs! Here I was thinking I'd be watching another glorious red carpet mess. Someone pass me the wine and I'll keep aww-ing all night. The only thing to really put me over would be if Drake and Rihanna finally announced they were dating. Are you listening, guys?
