Kourtney & Scott Are Still A Possibility

by Amy Mackelden

As an avid Keeping Up With the Kardashians fan, I was devastated when Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick broke up. While it felt like the right thing for both of them at the time, it was still completely heartbreaking to watch. The fact that Disick and Kardashian have managed to remain so close since, co-parenting their three children, has naturally made fans hopeful for a reconciliation. And in an interview in Cosmopolitan's October issue, Kardashian appears to confirm that there is still love between them. "If it's meant to be, then things will line up," she said. But while Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick may end up together, it's her strength that's most important.

While news that the couple might one day reunite is going to excite fans everywhere, it's Kardashian's honesty throughout the interview that's most enlightening. Acknowledging that her relationship with Disick ultimately didn't work out — "We definitely tried for a long time. But relationships are exhausting!" — the eldest Kardashian sister shows a real strength of character. It feels as though she's fully embracing this new, unexpected, phase of her life right now, in which she's single and has time to focus on herself. With three kids to look out for, alongside her career, the reality TV star has a busy schedule.

As Kardashian and Disick were together for nine years, it's understandable that neither of them would be completely over the breakup yet. But they're in a good place, having managed to stay friends, and that seems to be working well for them. Kardashian told Cosmopolitan, "We say to each other all the time, ‘I’m the coolest ex-girlfriend/baby mama you could ever ask for!’” It certainly sounds as if their rapport is alive and well, and their classic chemistry could lead to them getting back together one day. But if they don't, it sounds like Kardashian will be OK. As she said to Cosmopolitan, "To me, it's in God's hands."

Kardashian sounds incredibly strong in this latest interview. Following the breakup from Disick, she's had the chance to reevaluate her life, focus on herself and her family, and decide what she wants. While her journey's far from finished, it's exciting to hear her sound so positive about life, and hopeful for the future. Spirituality seems core to Kardashian's life choices right now. Her philosophical attitude, of just letting things happen as they're meant to, feels like a good move and a step towards acceptance. And speaking of the future, the Kardashian sister said, "I could see myself with six kids. I just don't know what's in God's plan." It's exciting to hear her talk about expanding her family, and sounds as though she'll make things happen when she's ready.

Whether Disick and Kardashian get back together or not, it's important that the former couple are in a good place now. And it'll be exciting to see what happens next for them both.
