The New Black iPhone 7 You Didn't Know You Needed

On Wednesday, Apple announced some big updates to its products during a live event in San Francisco. The many new updates and products will be here very soon, including a new jet black iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus. So here's what the new jet black iPhone 7 looks like.

The new phone, which is sleeker than ever, will have a longer battery life than any other iPhone, adding two extra hours onto your phone's life. The company's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller said, "iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus dramatically improve every aspect of the iPhone experience, reaching a new level of innovation and precision..." The phone also has a dual-camera system that should excite anyone who enjoys photography because it will offer some serious improvements to the lenses and the zoom features.

One of the best updates to the new phones, however, is the black finish that we'll be seeing on the market. One is a jet black matte finish, while the other comes with an extra glossy appearance. According to Apple, because the phones go through a nine-step process when it comes to their polish, the end product is "a water resistant iPhone offering protection like never before against spills, splashes and dust." And they look amazing.

So there you have it. There are many reasons why this is the best phone Apple has ever created. But in my opinion, the reason on the very top of that list is that these phones are so beautiful in matte and glossy jet black. Yes, please! Oh also, there's the whole water resistant thing — that might come in handy, especially since I've lost too many of my phones to water damage. Anyone else?

These new phones will be available for pre-order on Sept. 9.
