The 'AHS' Theme May Be Flexible

Well, we have the title for Season 6 of American Horror Story: My Roanoke Nightmare. It's kind of in line with what people had been speculating, but also kind of not. Fans had guessed that the show would address the Roanoke Colony, also known as the Lost Colony because it just straight-up disappeared IRL according to the History Channel's website. But, it doesn't seem like AHS is going to just be re-telling the tale of this missing colony. Instead, it seems like it will focus on the people from the present that come into contact with this part of the country (which is in North Carolina, BTW). That gives the show the ability to shift PoV and tell a new, creative story, while also drawing on the mystery of Roanoke.

It also allows Ryan Murphy to claim it's based on true events, as stated in the intro, because the Roanoke Colony was real, even if Matt and Shelby's story isn't all true. I mean, it's also possible that the couple is based on a real married pair, but with only their first names to go off of, I'm not certain I can assess that as of this moment.

To go hand-in-hand with this title, one Twitter user suggested the story may feature a new set of characters each episode, dealing with their own personal Roanoke nightmare.

I kind of like the freedom that would give the writers to explore this ancient mystery, but also tell new tales. They could also potentially focus one episode on the real Roanoke Colony, and others on present day people interacting with that land. But, with only the premiere to go off of for now, we'll just have to keep watching to see where AHS takes fans next.
