Ellie Kemper Keeps Her Private Life Private

At the beginning of August, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Ellie Kemper gave birth to her first child. And as her co-star Titus Burgess revealed on Facebook, she and her husband, Michael Koman, are proud parents of a baby boy. Ever since giving birth, details surrounding Kemper's son have been kept extremely private. First, there has yet to be a name released. Second, photos of Ellie Kemper's baby aren't available. It appears that Kemper and her husband are choosing to keep their child private, which makes a lot of sense even though it's not the route all celebs take. Really, it's not surprising, that Kemper would keep things secret, especially since the former star of The Office already seems like a pretty private person.

You can tell she likes to keep her personal life close to her chest, especially based on the fact that she doesn't even have social media. It's rare for a celebrity in this day and age to not have some form of social media account, but Kemper does not seem to be on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat, at least not publicly.

During a July interview with Today, the actor opened up about why she isn't on social media and she has a good reason. She explained,

"It's too much work. People who are on social media, I have nothing against them, I think it's great. I think it would take up so much time and, for me, worry about like, 'Should I have sent that? I didn't respond to this person.' Here's what happens. When I go on Twitter, because I'll go on Twitter and Instagram, and checking the news is one thing, but when you're just looking at what other people are doing, I never feel better afterwards, I feel more alone. I feel like, 'Are they having a lot more fun than I am?' No, it doesn't ever make me feel good."

You definitely shouldn't join social media if it's going to make you feel bad about yourself. Far too often is social media used as a tool to bully others, so maybe it's a good thing that Kemper has chosen to live a social media-free life. If she did join and then also happened to share a photo of her baby, there would probably be at least one person who'd give negative feedback about her as a parent or about her child. So, it's probably the right call for her to avoid it altogether — and to keep her details about her son private.

If you've been waiting to see and hear more about her baby, you might be waiting a long time for it to happen. But, when or if it ever does, you bet it will be on Kemper's terms.
