This Britney & Justin 'MMC' Video Is Too Cute

by Kristie Rohwedder

Thanks to that whole “I’m accessible, give us a call!” thing that flipped the internet upside down earlier this week, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears nostalgia is at fever pitch, and I am more than happy to lean into it. No, that doesn’t mean I’m shipping the two exes or whatever; they’ve moved on, I’ve moved on, the matching jean ensembles have moved on, etcetera. However, I am always game to take a trip down New Millennium Pop Memory Lane. Bring me all of the Pinky and Stinky photos the internet has to offer, fire up the 2001 Super Bowl halftime show, teach me how to put together a denim formalwear couples costume of my very own, and, of course, cue the Justin and Britney Mickey Mouse Club videos.

Here is a piece of scorching hot breaking news that I bet you have not heard a zillion times already: Timberlake and Spears (and JC Chasez and Christina Aguilera and Keri Russell and Ryan Gosling) were on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, the late ‘80s/early ’90s revival of Walt Disney’s variety show, The Mickey Mouse Club. During their tenure on the Disney Channel series, Spears and Timberlake acted in sketches, shot music videos, and covered popular songs in front of a studio audience.

What's that? You'd like to revisit the MMC-ified version of "I'll Take You There" by the Staple Singers, aka one of Spears and Timberlake's most memorable duets? You don't have to twist my arm.

Hello, 1994. So good to see you again:

May your mouse ears never unhear tween Timberlake's rap verse.

Before I send you on your merry way, here is MMC's parody advert for what may be the most repulsive pourable meat to never exist.

Why? Because I like you.
