The First 'Peanuts' Trailer Is Here

by Alanna Bennett

Charlie Brown and Snoopy are two of the most iconic illustrated characters of all time, so it makes sense that the first teaser for Peanuts , the 2015 CG movie based off the original comic strip, would make use of that iconicity. Basically, it's hard not to have flashbacks to your childhood once that piano kicks in, and I'm no marketing expert, but that seems a pretty good way to lure parents to take their kids to see this movie in theaters once it finally arrives. Especially with Paul Feig producing.

The film will be released in 3D come Nov. 6, 2015 — also known as the 65th anniversary of the debut of Charles M. Schultz' famous comic strip. It will likely feature all the favorites, but the world is still not privy to all the deets. As Craig Schultz (who controls the trademarks and is Charles' son) said, "It’s about a round-headed kid and his dog, and that’s about as far as I’m willing to go.” And as Feig added, the film will do its best to retain the comic strip's "sweet optimism."

The last big screen Peanuts movie came out in 1980. You can see the first teaser below, wherein Charlie and Snoopy are the only two featured, but it gives you a sense of what it might be like to experience such classic characters in CG technology.
