Lauren Graham & Alexis Bledel Are The Gilmores IRL

by Michelle Lulic

This proves it: If Alexis Bledel is out on the road (feeling lonely, and so cold) all she has to do is call Lauren Graham's name and she'll be there on the next train. On Friday night, Graham posted the most adorable photo on Twitter in celebration of Bledel's 35th birthday, and in the caption, one thing was extremely clear: Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are basically Lorelai and Rory in real life. It seems that years after Gilmore Girls completed it's seventh season — and in the wake of it's upcoming four-part Netflix revival — Graham and Bledel have remained closer than ever. Because, not only did Graham celebrate Bledel's birthday with what has to be one of the cutest throwback pictures of the two of them from the set of Gilmore Girls back in the day, but she also included an incredibly Lorelai-sounding caption to the post: "Here we are back in the aughts looking sassy. xxxxxL." Who else suddenly feels like they're in Stars Hollow again?

Of course, this photo is just one glimpse of the on-screen duo's relationship over the years. Graham and Bledel might not be the everyday kind of besties (considering they're both busy and filming for the Gilmore Girls revival has come to an end), but they do meet up for lunch every now and then. And, according to Graham, they girls have only gotten closer thanks to the revival: "We were both kind of in different places then, and we're both more settled down now," Graham shared with People magazine. "So that was kind of cool, to reconnect." All leading up to this wondrous post.

And, as expected, the oh-so-cute Twitter family reunion didn't go unnoticed by the unofficial, honorary residents of Stars Hollow. As fans of Gilmore Girls took to Twitter with their own birthday wishes and reactions to the obvious mother-daughter love-fest so perfectly on display to the public.

Luckily for us fans, this is just the beginning. The highly-anticipated revival series, Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life, premieres Nov. 25.
