On Sunday night, Mr. Robot star Rami Malek brought his cousin as his 2016 Emmys date, which was so adorable. When asked about his choice of familial entourage, Malek told Giuliana Rancic it was "family time" for the duo. "This is the best way to go through an experience like this," he added. His cousin, who was unfortunately never introduced so I'm not sure of her name, was thoroughly thrilled to be joining Malek on his big night. When Rancic went to introduce herself, Malek's cousin boldly said, "I know who you are" and explained that she was super excited to meet the red carpet host. Rancic pointed out that there were going to be so many stars for his cousin to meet. His cousin just stood there beaming, in a mixture of pride for her cousin and probably excitement to be at such a cool event.
Malek told Rancic that he and his cousin were always super close, even writing each other letters when they lived in different cities. His cousin chimed in, saying she was so proud of where Malek has gotten in his career. "He's the best," she said. "He's a really good person; he deserves everything." Say it with me guys, awwww.
Even if Malek doesn't win the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama, he's already won the award of Best Cousin for bringing along his family member as a date. Here's hoping she gets a lot of cool selfies with celebs tonight!
