If you're going to take a risk on the red carpet, you sure as hell better be ready to hear feedback from the Internet... and it may not always be good. Such is the case for Veep star Anna Chlumsky, who walked the 2016 Emmys red carpet on Sunday night in a pink, quilted off the shoulder dress. She paired the textured dress with simple pink pumps, a pink clutch, and dainty diamond earrings. The look may have been ladylike and interesting, but the Internet was not into it.
It kind of looks like a down comforter, a costume cape, and an old tube sock all got melded together in the dryer to create a single garment, but in some weird way I actually think it's working. It's definitely different from all the simple black-and-glitter-adorned princess dresses that have dominated the carpet so far this year, so I definitely #respekt the uniqueness of the look. Credit where credit is due to her for daring to be different.
Sadly, the Twitterverse has officially spoken and not everyone agrees with my support of Chlumsky's risk-taking look. She may not have won the Emmy tonight, but she has officially been nominated on social media for one of the worst dressed celebrities of the night. Sigh.
The Internet can be so mean, but as long as Anna loves her look, then that's all that matters! Own it, girl. I support you!
