Video Could Be Released Of Pitt On The Plane

by Caitlyn Callegari

While the developments since the news of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's divorce broke have caused a fair amount of confusion, speculation, and concern, it appears that a video related to one particular claim could potentially be released. According to Us Weekly, a source claimed to the publication that there is video footage of the alleged plane incident that took place between Pitt and Jolie, and that was, reportedly, the reason behind the child abuse allegations against Pitt. (Bustle has reached out to Pitt's rep for comment on the claims, but has not yet received a response.) But just because a video exists doesn't mean the public will get the chance to see it for themselves, which begs the question, will Pitt and Jolie's alleged plane incident video be released?

Per Us Weekly's sources, the video allegedly contains what would be understandably sensitive material for the family. While Us' sources claim that Pitt was "yelling," and a few allege that he was intoxicated, the claims do vary depending on who is telling it. For instance, one source claimed of Pitt, "He got drunk and was fighting with Angie. Maddox stepped in to defend Angie and got in Brad's face." But, another "source close to Pitt" claimed, "Teenagers have fights with their parents, especially when you have teens who are strong-willed and confident. You’re going to have back and forth. The abuse suggestions are inaccurate."

The sources also claimed that the video was taken on Sept. 14, allegedly "after the Jolie Pitt family’s jet stopped for fuel at Minnesota’s International Falls Airport." TMZ claimed in a report that the alleged incident may have led to the couple's divorce. USA Today reports that "Jolie listed the couple's date of separation as the following day, September 15th."

From the recent reports, it seems unclear whether or not the video will be released at this time, but seeing as videos of celebrities that they probably didn't want out publicly in the past have been leaked before, it is certainly possible.

Pitt has not yet commented directly on the claims against him himself, but "a source close to the actor" told The Independent, "He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children. It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light. I think the most important thing is the fact that he is co-operating and that he takes it seriously, he recognizes it is a serious matter and he is willing to do whatever will be best for his family."

The FBI released the following statement to Bustle in response to reports that there is a federal investigation open into the claims against Pitt: "In response to your inquiry regarding allegations within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States; specifically, an aircraft carrying Mr. Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI is continuing to gather facts and will evaluate whether an investigation at the federal level will be pursued."
