Sansa Needs These Things Before 'GoT' Ends

by Loretta Donelan

Sansa Stark began her Game Of Thrones journey as a kind of villain: the older sister who'd sell her family out for nice clothing and a royal title. Now, she is one the show's most beloved and heroic characters, and I find myself rooting for Sansa to finish her run on Game of Thrones on top. Don't get me wrong: this doesn't mean I think she will be (or even should be) the one to sit on the Iron Throne come Season 8. Not only is that a stretch, but it doesn't seem to be what Sansa wants anyway. After all, she's so young. No, I just want her to be happy, and strong, and fully secure with herself and her life.

Sansa has been through a lot on the show, and she's become strong, resourceful, cunning, and loyal. She's one of the characters I'm most invested in, but the issue with Game of Thrones is that it's difficult to imagine how anyone's going to make it out alive and happy. The two fates of characters on the show seem to be supreme rule of Westeros or death, with no middle ground. However, in an ideal world, these are the things I would like for Sansa before or after the end of Game of Thrones.

No Husband (For A While)

I think it's time for Sansa to take a break from men for a while, or at the very least find someone decent and age-appropriate.

Reuniting With Her Remaining Family

It was so nice to see her and Jon Snow together again, and I really hope we get to see her and Arya reunite.

Political Influence

Sansa has proven herself very capable of understanding and handling complex political struggles, and part of her seems to enjoy it. It would be nice to see her be given some power if a Stark ends up on the Iron Throne.

A Childhood

At the same time, Sansa was so young when all of this began, and she and her siblings have been forced to grow up so fast. A little lightness seems like it would do her a lot of good.

A New Direwolf

R.I.P., Lady.

A Positive Female Role Model

With her mother dead and only women like Cersei to look up to, it would do Sansa good to meet some less terrifying women. I like the idea of her and Daenerys getting along.

A Comfortable Life

As a younger girl, Sansa yearned for material comfort, and while she's become less selfish over the course of the show, I hope she's more comfortable in the near future.

Revenge... But Not Too Much Revenge

Many, many people have wronged Sansa, but I wouldn't want her to have too much blood on her hands.

Mainly, I'm just hoping she gets out of this thing alive, and hopefully not married to Littlefinger. We can only hope.
