How To Register To Vote On Snapchat

At this point in the election cycle, the only thing I have left to say is: vote. Or: register to vote, then vote. And if you don't know how to register to vote, then: go on Snapchat, then register to vote. Because yes, you can now learn how to register to vote on Snapchat. What a time to be alive. In fact, you can register literally right now, because I know that you are already on there seeing if that star crown filter is back. Then, after you've done that, for the love of all that is good, please vote.

In collaboration with TurboVote, a voting non-profit created by Democracy Works, Snapchat has created a step-by-step tutorial for first-time voters, helmed by celebrities like Jimmy Fallon and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The entire process shouldn't take more than a few minutes, and if there's any paperwork required, the TurboVote app will help you coordinate. All of this is incredibly important, because our generation has previously not had a great track record of showing up to the polls — and if you haven't noticed, this is an incredibly important turning point in history when we need to show up.

Though this (honestly, truly) very cool part of the app is only available until Oct. 7, it has opened the door to resources that streamline the process of registering, figuring out absentee ballots, and wading through the non-presidential nominee options.

So, since I know you already have your phone nearby....

1. Open Snapchat

If you don't know how to do this, then you are probably not part of the target demographic.

2. Swipe to the "Discover" Page

You know, where you can watch all you friends having an incredible time at Chance, The Rapper while you sit quietly on your couch, pouting.

3. Find the TurboVote Story

If you don't see it immediately, relax! The story is apparently available intermittently throughout the day. Check back later. Go see what sad and/or weird geotags are available for your office.

4. Follow the Sweet, Dulcet Tones of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Teaching You How To Be A Responsible Citizen Who Shows Up For Their Peers

Man, I do love him, I do, I do. He (or whoever is starring in the TurboVote Story you decided to watch) will instruct you to swipe up on the screen, and from there, you can follow the prompts to get your vote on.

Do it.

Rock this vote, people.
