Ever have one of those moments when you're rewatching a movie and all of a sudden, you realize something you didn't the last time you watched it? And by that I mean you realize that a scene you thought was innocent is actually totally about sex. I can't count the number of times that I've gone back and rewatched a movie only to realize that a particular scene is actually, definitely referring to sex. It's kind of embarrassing how often I haven't caught this it at first, but alas, it's the truth. And in order to spare you from the same shame I have felt in these moments, I have weeded out 14 movie scenes that are actually about sex, despite what you may have thought they were about when you first watched them.
These scenes might surprise you, and make you think twice about the movies you've watched over the years. Some of them might make you go "ohhhhhhh!" And some might make you go "wait, really?" Trust me, I was just as surprised as you will be. It's not often that something goes over my head and yet... these scenes totally escaped me. But they will not escape you, and you will no longer be living under a rock. These 14 movie scenes that are about sex might seem familiar to you, but trust me, you will never, ever watch them the same way again.
1. Hocus Pocus — Black Flame Candle
Okay, so it's not directly about sex but let me tell you — it took me a very long time as a child to realize what a virgin was and once I knew... well, Hocus Pocus was never the same.
2. Shrek — Farquaad Bed Scene
Am I the only one who didn't realize this was a giant masturbation scene? Because it is. He's naked. In bed. Watching pictures of princesses. I'm embarrassed it took me this long to realize it.
3. Cruel Intentions — Kathryn & Sebastian
It took me a very long time to realize that she's about to give him a hand job in this scene. Like... way too long to realize.
4. Swimfan — Swimming Pool
OK, yes while watching this scene back now it's obvious that they're having sex. But when I was in middle school it wasn't so obvious. But they are. They're doing it. In the pool.
5. The Thomas Crown Affair — Chess Scene
Yes, they're playing chess, but in actuality this entire scene is about sex.
6. The Road To El Dorado — Chel & Tulio
100% nowhere near his face. They skipped right on over to third base and let me tell you, when I was a kid... I had no idea.
7. The Lion King — "Can You Feel The Love Tonight"
I feel like this one is pretty obvious but it took me forever to realize that this was basically a song about them getting it on.
8. The Little Rascals — Alfalfa's Hair
Aka an innuendo for an erection.
9. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective — Reward Scene
When you are a child you have no idea what is happening in this scene. When you are an adult, you do.
10. Ratatouille — Tiny Chef
It's subtle but it's there

Come on. I can't believe I never caught this one.
12. The Shining — Bear Suit
It takes a few seconds to click and then you're like, "oohhhh."
13. Mrs. Doubtfire — Dinner Scene
I never realized there were so many euphemisms for sex.
14. Frozen — Shoe Size
Shoe size doesn't matter... but that's not really what he was referring to.
OK, so maybe some of these are more obvious than others but come on — sometimes things just go over your head. At least now you know, right?
