'RHOM's Herman Echevarria Dies Unexpectedly

In tragic news, Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Echevarria's husband Herman Echevarria Sr. died Monday unexpectedly. E! News was the first to report the news and Alexia also took to Instagram to release a statement regarding his death. According to E! news, Herman was found dead in his room at a Miami hotel. E! News also says that police have confirmed his death, but have yet to release any other details since it is an open investigation. Reportedly, family and his employees were concerned when he didn't show up for work and didn't answer his phone, which led to the discovery of his body. A source also told E! News that Herman's family thinks he died from a heart attack, but that has yet to be confirmed. Update: On Tuesday, E! News reported that police revealed Herman died from natural causes in his apartment at the Epic Residences in Miami and that the case is now closed. Alexia also confirmed that she and Herman were separated at the time of his death.

Earlier: As for Alexia, who became well known for her time on Bravo's RHOM before it was canceled, posted the following statement to Instagram about Herman's death:

The Echevarria family is heartbroken over the sudden passing of our patriarch Herman Echevarria this morning. He was a family man, a hardworking businessman, dedicated to helping others and a pillar of his community that was loved by everyone who's life he touched. We ask that you please respect our privacy during this time of grieving.

In addition to their time on RHOM, Herman and Alexia were known for starting Venue magazine. The two reportedly separated in 2015 and recently divorced after 15 years of marriage, "sources close to the family" told E! News. In May 2015, Us Weekly also released a report about their separation, but it doesn't appear that either Herman or Alexia ever publicly confirmed it themselves.
