Emma Stone is Back, Better Than Ever?

by Mary Avant

We have absolutely no problem admitting that, as obsessed with celebrities and their fashion as we are, there are many celebrities we wouldn’t mind having a break from for a few months. But there's one lady whose low profile over the last several months has not been a breath of fresh air: Emma Stone.

Our favorite red-headed starlet has made few red-carpet appearances recently — even skipping the red carpet all together when she presented at the Golden Globes in January — and we’ll be the first to say that we’ve missed her gorgeous face and chic style. But it looks like we won’t have to miss her much longer, as she and boyfriend Andrew Garfield have begun making their press rounds for the upcoming release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , starting with a down-under photo call yesterday in Sydney.

Stone looked positively radiant in a sheer, striped Chloé blouse-and-skirt combo, which she paired with a plunging white tank top and sunshine-yellow Christian Louboutin heels. And, much to our liking, she even brought back her signature red locks, which she styled simply with a chic, shoulder-length bob.

It may be the fact that it was a casual, daytime event on a sunny spring day (well, fall in Australia), but we’re also loving the easy, breezy style Stone has adopted for the first leg of the Spider-Man 2 promo tour — a big departure from some of the dark and daring ensembles she wore for premieres of the first film in the series. (And can we just stop for a second and talk about how handsome Garfield looks in his charcoal suit and pink button down?)

Stone debuted a more mature, and often edgier, style during the last round of The Amazing Spider-Man premieres, with her dramatic, goth-inspired Gucci gown from the Paris premiere standing out as the best example. But even her more toned-down looks, like this burgundy color-blocked dress from Roksanda Ilincic, were more grown up than the cute shift dresses and pretty, printed numbers we were accustomed to seeing her wear.

If her simple, loose Sydney outfit is any indication, Stone may be going with a more laid-back, casual-chic look for the whole upcoming Spider-Man press tour. But she wears, we can’t wait to see Stone back in the spotlight for this round of premieres and press events. We’re sure she'll be just as fashionable and enviably gorgeous as always.
