Watch The Final 'Fantastic Beasts' Trailer

If you're a Harry Potter fan, you've probably noticed by now that most people think of you as a nerd; you obsess over a seven book series for young adults, and can probably recite your House, wand type, and Patronus offhand. And while I'll be the first to reassure you that there's no shame in that — Ravenclaw, unyielding vine wood with a phoenix feather core, dragonfly, by the way — I was very excited to note that the new Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them trailer suggests that the upcoming film is finally the action movie that we nerds deserve.

We've gotten sneak peeks at the upcoming Harry Potter spinoff before, of course, but this time around it's a much clearer picture of what the completed film will be like. The trailer was released via EllenTube on Wednesday. In addition to the elements I already knew about and was psyched for, like Eddie Redmayne being an adorable buffoon as Newt Scamander, and, y'know, all the fantastic beasts and whatnot, it also introduced an element of drama and action that I wasn't expecting.

Something about it being a movie based on a fictional textbook had me thinking that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them would be a low-key library romp — that's a genre, I swear — but one look at the final trailer, and I immediately knew how wrong I was. Take a gander for yourself.

I don't know about you, but the franchise that this reminded me of over any other was actually X-Men. Obviously, we're working with magic instead of mutation, but there are shared elements of two groups facing off, fear of the unknown, and outsiders just trying to fit in, which are very exciting. And then there's also the action aspect; the above trailer is packed with exciting moments that actually gave me goosebumps and got my heart racing, and that's just from this little snippet. (Imagine how I'll feel when it's a whole trilogy .) You have these huge beasts swooping through the New York cityscape, with soaring music and dramatic chords in the background, and it almost feels like a disaster movie, just set within the genre of 1920s America and an added dash of magic.

What I'm saying is, I already couldn't wait for this movie, and that was before I realized that it going to legit have me on the edge of my seat. I'm going to try to stay calm until it's out in theaters, but Nov. 18 can't come quickly enough.
